The AIFCE, Owerri, established in 1963, is celebrating its Golden Jubilee Year. Founded by the Eastern Nigeria Government with technical assistance from UNESCO, originally as Advanced Teacher Training College, to provide teachers of intermediate level, the College now awards N.C.E., PDE and B.ed in affiliation with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
